Here I have split open the seed pod.  The seeds are like strips of thin paper with seeds at the end.  Similar to the pine tree seeds.  You know, the ones that twirl to the ground.

seed pods of the Plumeria

This pic shows 5 seed pods that developed last year at the end of summer.  This is what they looked one month ago.  It takes 8 to 9 months for the seed pods to mature.  They look like giant vanilla beans.

The Plumeria

This is a pic of a Plumeria.  These are the flowers that Hawiian Lei's are made of.  They have a very heavy scent.  I would say it is almost too much.  Almost.

First day

Today is the last day of June, 2010.  I am just now coming on board with this blogging thing.  I will teach myself as I go.  I wanted a place where I can share my love of plants and watch them grow.  Maybe sell or trade a few cuttings too!  At work right now but will begin posting pics and things this evening of plants.
